"Nuwaubian" Leader and Mass Child Molestor Dwight York Seeks to Vacate 135 Year Sentence Based on Alleged Prosecutorial Misconduct

As reported in the Macon Telegraph, Dwight "Malachi" York, former leader of the United Nuwaubian Nation of Moors who was indicted and convicted on over 100 counts of child molestation in April 2004 and setenced to 135 years, has filed a motion in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Georgia to vacate his sentence. York, who has been a minister and a musician, is best know as the founder of "Nuwaubianism," an unorthodox religious sect established in the 1970s. In 1993, York moved the Nuwaubians from upstate New York to a compound in Putnam County, Georgia, near Eatonton. York was arrested for sexually molesting dozens of children in 2002. The charges against York were truly astounding and hideous in their magnitude--author Bill Osinsky, in the fact sheet for his book Ungodly, reveals that state prosecutors literally had to cut back the number of counts listed in the indictment from well over 1,000 to slightly more than 200 because "they feared that a jury simply would not believe the magnitude of York's evil."

York has now filed a motion alleging that Federal Bureau of Investigation agents threatened witnesses to give perjured testimony against him, as well as alleging that the prosecution used unauthenticated tapes of York having sex with minors to taint the jury. The motion attached affidavits from witnesses in York's trial, including one by a witness who alleges that FBI agents took him from his family and transported him to a home in Milledgeville and pointed guns at him until he agreed to give information against York. York is currently incarcerated at the supermax prison in Florence, Colorado.

I would like someone to show me where York was convicted of over 100 counts of Child Molestation.
This is fabricated information, which falls inline with the 1957 concept of the Southern Manifesto.
As for Bill Osinki, his book is an example of sensationalism in attempts to sell his product. He has written his book from the concept of there being no 1st amendment to the Constitution of the United States. He is also hypocritical when it comes to telling the story of his friend Dizzy Adams.
In this case no one is being held accountable for the judical corruption, even the "Checks and Balance" of the first three Articles of the Constitution is being eshewed.
As we hold other countries accountable for their inhumane and unfair treatment, we still allow people in this country to be treated in the same horrific manner that we accuse other countries of being responsible for.

Very sad sister - August 5, 2009 1:50 AM

All I know Micheal is that my sister was in this group and now she has disappeared explain that. It hurts to lose a love one. What ever they were doing on this compound was hipnotic because my sister would have never dissappeared from her loving family. Please explain that. I am searching for her. She personally new York and I can't find her!

Very sad sister, it is certainly hurtful to lose a loved one. Is the disappearance of your sister public knowledge? I ask this because you did not give her name on this blog post. If it wasn't public knowledge, you have made it public knowledge by posting the matter on this public site. Therefore, it would have been helpful to post her name so the many who have/will read this can contact you in some way.

Moreover, she may read this and decide to contact you. The only name you gave in relation to your "sister's disappearance" was "She personally knew "York" and I can't find her". Are you interested in finding your sister or making Mr York out to be the culprit?

Your accusation is directly aligned with the many general and unfounded accusations that lead to this man receiving an unfair trial. I agree with Mr. Berkley. "I would like someone to show me where York was convicted of over 100 counts of Child Molestation."

He is guilty, and if they found sex tape it is not unauthenticated. York hurt those children, his whole mission was about the children....He wanted as many as he could get and have his pick of the litter. Beside the night of the raid they went around hidding the rest of the children on the land calling people so they can hid the children that was born from teenage girls. He also tested positive for herpes, so did some of the children. He's a monster
